!!Diversifying Academia Europaea’s membership - An update from our Graz Information Centre

__Following the latest nomination cycle, our Graz Information Centre shares insights into Academia Europaea's nomination statistics.__

*During the most recent nomination period, Academia Europaea received __618 nominations__ for membership, a significant __23%__ increase compared to the previous year.

*Among the 618 nominations, __23%__ were attributed to female candidates. While the overall representation of female nominees remains modest, in __Humanities and Arts__ (Class A1), 47% of the nominees were female.

*Additionally, 31% of the nominations were from foreign candidates, a substantial __72%__ increase from the previous year's figures.

*In terms of Classes, __Exact Sciences__ (Class B ) received the highest proportion of nominations at __41%__.

*Notably, three sections stood out as receiving the highest number of nominations: [Clinical and veterinary science|Acad_Main/Sections/Clinical_and_veterinary_science], [Physics and engineering sciences|Acad_Main/Sections/Physics_engineering_sciences], and [Informatics|Acad_Main/Sections/Informatics], collectively accounting for __45%__ of the total nominations. This is consistent with patterns observed last year.

*China, Germany, and the UK once again emerged as the top contributing countries, jointly representing __45%__ of the total nominations. Despite efforts to boost representation from "__Widening countries__*," there has not been a substantial increase in nominations from these regions.

__The Graz Information Centre__ was founded in 2010 with the purpose of increasing the visibility of __Academia Europaea__ and its Members. The establishment of the Centre was made possible by a joint agreement between __Academia Europaea__ and [Graz University of Technology|https://www.tugraz.at/en/home].
