The conference aims at providing platform to discuss recent advances in our knowledge on the diversity, ecology, and applications of microorganisms and their viruses. The conference will cover the following topics: Clinical Microbiology and Epidemiology; Bacteriophages and their Medical Applications, Mictrobial Technologies; and Microbial Exosystems and Microbiomes. The special workshop "New Trends in Extremophile Research and Biotechnology" will cover key areas of ecology, diversity and biotechnological potential of extremophilic micriorganisms and their viruses.

The conference marks the centenary of microbiology research in Georgia, initiated by the foundation in 1919 of the Department of Bacteriology at the Tbilis State University by professor Simon Amirejibi. Thus, one of aims of the conference will be to highlight the achievements of Geeorgian microbiologists and their internationl collaborations.
\\ \\
The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for students and scientists to meet and interact with experts in different areas of microbiology from 19 countries, to exchange ideas and develop new international collaborations.
