Bronisław Geremek was one of the top politicians of the Republic of Poland. He had a significant influence on the collapse of communism in Poland.

Among others positions, Bronisław Geremek was Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Poland (1997-2000), and a member of the European Parliament (2004-2008).

After his tragic death in 2008, the Bronisław Geremek Center [http://kondolencje.geremek.pl/?id=10&lang=en] was founded in order to preserve his legacy. The foundation was inaugurated on June 5, 2009.
