!Short laudatio by Jerzy Langer

Professor Kosssut is among most recognised condensed matter physicist from
Poland. He is the Cco-founder of the DMS (diluted magnetic semiconductors concept),
to which he significantly contributed in theory and experiment (citation
close to 4000). He organised and managed low-dimension semicond lab in the
NMS. He is a member of Board of Institute directors of Polish
Academy of Sciences and a Deputy Chair of Exact Sciences division of the Academy. Jacek Kossut is active in bringing Poland to the forefront European sciences and cooperation.
