As part of the SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) consortium, Academia Europaea is pleased to issue a call for the nomination of experts to take part in a new SAPEA evidence review on ‘Cross-sectoral evidence-based governance for One Health in the EU’. The deadline for nominations is Monday 22nd January 2024.

What will the Working Group do? #

SAPEA will draft an Evidence Review Report on Cross-Sectoral Evidence-Based Governance for One Health in the EU, covering all relevant fields. This Report will then inform a Scientific Opinion of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors. The main question to be examined is:

Considering the complex policy area of One Health, what forms of management and cross-sectoral collaborations are best suited to ensure that synergies, possible trade-offs, and unintended consequences are considered?

The scoping question should be addressed by reviewing scientific evidence and considers the complexity of all aspects of the issue. The scientific advice will contribute to the definition of an EU position in discussions on One Health governance.

Who can be nominated?#

You can nominate experts who may or may not be Members of Academia Europaea (MAE). The scoping question should be addressed by reviewing scientific evidence, including from the social sciences and humanities. An indicative list of expertise sought is given in the Call for Nominations document.

Nominations should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, together with a short statement on how the nominee’s experience meets the areas of expertise identified in the Call for Nominations document.
