Election of Prof. Jerzy Langer to President of the Warsaw Scientific Society#
Prof. Jerzy Langer, member of the Physics and Engineering Science section of Academia Europaea and former AE Foreign Secretary, was elected President of the Warsaw Scientific Society (SOCIETAS SCIENTIARUM VARSAVIENSIS).
The Warsaw Scientific Society was re-established in 1907 to advance the sciences and arts and is rooted in the Friends of Science Society founded in 1800. Its current membership amounts to 400+ elected top scholars (24 are also the AE Members) and most of whom come from Warsaw, being the site of the largest science community in Poland.
