Maria da Graça Carvalho#

Academia Europaea is pleased to welcome Professor Maria da Graça Carvalho, Member of the Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM) Unit of the European Commission and Professor at IST, University of Lisbon, as an Honorary member of the Academy.

Professor Maria da Graça Carvalho is both an eminent engineer and has been Minister of Science of Portugal, an MEP and is currently a senior member of the European Commission Science Advice Mechanism (SAM) Unit at DG Research. Professor da Graça Carvalho will bring to the AE substantial expertise in science for policy.
