Prof. Donald Dingwell elected Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh#
Prof. Donald B. Dingwell (AE Vice-President), Chair of Mineralogy and Petrology and Director of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich
was elected Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Prof. Dingwell joins approximately 100 scientists worldwide who have been made Corresponding Members of the Academy. He is one of two scientists in Germany to be included.
The Royal Society of Edinburgh is the national academy of Scotland. It received its royal charter in 1783 during the Scottish Enlightenment. Geoscientists played a central role in its creation.
The Royal Society of Edinburgh consists of ca. 1900 fellows and is organised into 4 sectors and 15 sub-sectors. Prof. Dingwell joins the approximately 180 members of Earth Sciences and Chemistry.
