Apply for a "Travel Grant" to attend EuroScience Open Forum - ESOF2022!

ESOF2022, the EuroScience Open Forum, will be held in Leiden, The Netherlands, from July 13th to 16th 2022.

For young aspiring researchers, including Postdocs, PhD candidates and Master students, ESOF is an excellent opportunity to get immersed in Europe’s largest general science conference, learn about new discoveries in a large number of fields (download programme at a glance), meet Nobel laureates, young researchers but also science journalists and science policy makers.

We believe that as many young researchers and students as possible should be able to participate in ESOF2022. We have therefore raised funds to make it possible for some of them to be part of, learn from and contribute to the conference.

In this spirit, we have put forces together with several funding organisations who agreed to fund over 60 young researchers to travel to ESOF2022 and give them thus the opportunity to broaden their scientific horizons as well as their professional networks.

• Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Stiftung sponsors the travel cost of six Postdocs in physics or working in the field of physics or a related interdisciplinary area based in Germany.

• Swedish Research Council – Vetenskapsrådet is providing travel grants for five young researchers based in Sweden irrespective of their nationality as well as to Swedish nationals studying/working in any European country.

• Fonds National de la Recherche - FNR funds the travel of ten young researchers who are either based in Luxembourg or funded by the FNR abroad.

• University of Zurich is funding a number of travel grants to bring junior researchers, PhD candidates and Postdocs, pursuing their study or research at the University of Zürich in Switzerland.
