Tüzin Baycan is a leading scholar in Europe in the area of urban planning and sustainable development. She has published extensively in these areas in the established international literature. She is now visiting professor at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.

Tüzin Baycan has contributed extensively to the debate on urban cultural diversity through various publications. Her recent work on 'green cities' is noteworthy and and has attracted much attention in the international research community.
