Lorenzo Bianconi - Biography#

Lorenzo Bianconi studied musicology in Basel and Heidelberg, where he obtained his doctorate in 1974.

Since 1977 he has been a member of the University of Bologna, where he has taught Musical Dramaturgy until 2018 (full professor since 1983; emeritus 2017). He has also taught at Princeton (1977) and at the Universities of Macerata (1977/78) and Siena (Arezzo campus, 1980 - 1983).

At the University of Bologna, he chaired the DAMS degree course (1987-1989, 1994 - 1997) and the specialist degree in Music Disciplines (2003 - 2007); he directed the Department of Music and Performing Arts (1998 - 2001); he coordinated the Scuola di Specializzazione per l'Insegnamento secondario, class of Music Education (2006 - 2009).

He has been a member of the Research Observatory of the University of Bologna (2004-2010); of the CUN working group for scientific evaluation in Areas 10 and 11 (2009); of the Nucleo di Valutazione della Sapienza (2011 - 2013). In 2012-2013 he was consultant of the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research for the VQR 2004-2010 (sub-GEV coordinator L-ART/01-08).
