Nicola Cabibbo#
Nicola Cabibbo was born April 10, 1935 in Rome and died August 16, 2010 also in Rome.
Nicola Cabibbo was a prominent Italian physicist and an expert in particle interaction. He was the first to understand the mechanism of the phenomenon of quarks. His work was extended by Makoto Kobayashi and Toshihide Maskawa to the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix. In 2008, Kobayashi and Maskawa shared one half of the Nobel Prize in Physics for their work based on the idea by Nicola Cabibbo.
The so-called Cabibbo angle was named after Nicola Cabibbo.
