Honours and Awards
- Distinció per a la promoció de la recerca de la Generalitat de Catalunya (2002-2008). This was a prize created by the Catalan Government to promote the dedication to research of 10 researchers per year (in all fields of science and technology). The prize consisted of 46000 euros per year during 6 years. Prof. Diaz was the first researcher in Computer Science in Catalunya to obtain this award.
- Spanish National Prize in Informatics, Jose García Santesmases (2011) (http://www.upc.edu/saladepremsa/al-dia/mes-noticies/josep-diaz-premio-nacional-de-informatica-2011. This was the fourth edition of the prize, which is given to reward the computer engineering researcher who has made profund contributions to promote and support the field of Informatics, throughout his/her professional life.
