Research
- Track Record of grant capture from major funders including: Cancer Research UK, Wellcome Trust, ESRC, British Academy, UKRI. In the past two years alone, this includes projects of £500,000 total FEC value
- Author, editor and co-author/editor of 9 books, including several prestigious Four Volume Master Works for Sage. 30+ refereed journal articles. 25 book chapters. 10 keynote addresses, and numerous other invited and funded presentations and reports
- International reputation: work translated into French, Portuguese, Hungarian, German, Italian and Japanese
- Winner of Sage Innovation Prize (2018); Emerald Literati Prize (2013); Norbert Elias Prize (2006)
- Member of several editorial boards, guest editor of numerous journals, currently co-editor of Sociological Research Online
Teaching
- External Examiner for numerous programmes globally and domestically, including universities of Kent, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Ulster, Aberystwyth, City University, Kings College London
- Progenitor of a raft of Postgraduate Taught programmes, including a professional doctorate by distance learning, the first of its kind in the UK

Citizenship
