Sophie Lecheler’s research fields include political communication; digital news journalism; emotion in politics; framing; news processing; political journalism; social media; experimental research; public sphere. Her work has been published in a wide range of international journals, such as Communication Research, Journal of Communication, New Media & Society, and Journalism Studies. She serves on the editorial boards of numerous renowned academic journals, such as Political Communication, Communication Research, Mass Communication & Society and Digital Journalism; she is currently Associate Editor of the top-tier journal Human Communication Research. Prof. Lecheler ist the Speaker of the Vienna Doctoral School of Social Sciences (ViDSS) and the Dean of Studies Doctoral Programme of the Social Sciences.
