Brief biography:

Jiaguo Yu received his BS and MS in Chemistry from Central China Normal University and Xi’an Jiaotong University in P.R. China, respectively; his PhD in Materials Science in 2000 from Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China. In 2000, he became a Professor at WUT. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2001 to 2004, a visiting scientist from 2005 to 2006 at University of Bristol, and a visiting scholar from 2007 to 2008 at University of Texas at Austin.

His research interests include semiconductor photocatalysis, photocatalytic hydrogen production, photocatalytic CO2 reduction for solar fuel production, photoelectrochemistry and photochemistry, perovskite and dye-sensitized solar cells, supercapacitor, electrocatalysis, formaldehyde room temperature oxidation decomposition, as well as adsorption and adsorption materials.

He has published more than 570 SCI papers in international journals with peer review. He is one of Thomson Reuters "Hottest Researcher" of 2012 in the world. His name is also in the lists of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate Analytics (previously Thomson Reuters) in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering in the world. He becomes a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2015.
