Curriculum Vitae#
Franco Zambonelli is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia since 2001.
He obtained the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering in 1992, and the PhD in Computer Science in 1997, both from the University of Bologna. His current research interests include: distributed and pervasive computing, self-organizing complex distributed systems, autonomic computing and communication, and software engineering for large-scale socio-technical pervasive systems. In these areas, he has published 2 monograph, over 70 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, co-edited 9 books, and received several best paper awards. He has been invited speaker and tutorialist in several international conferences and workshops.
He is the co-Editor in Chief of the ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems, Editorial Board member of the Elsevier Journal of Pervasive and Mobile Computing, the BCS Computer Journal, and the Journal of Agent-Oriented Software Engineering. He is member of the program committee of several major conferences and workshops in the areas of distributed, pervasive, and autonomic computing systems. He has been Program Vice-Chair for 5th IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communication (2006), general chair for the 2008 edition of the IEEE International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems, for which he is also steering committee chair for 2009-2010. Among several responsibilities in project management, he has been Scientific Manager for the EU FP6 IP Project “CASCADAS” (2006-2008), and is coordinator of the EU FP7 STREP Project "SAPERE" (2010-2013). He is senior member of ACM and IEEE.
