Manfred Stelzer - Biography#

Born 1958 in Vienna, Prof. Stelzer studied the law at Vienna University. In 1985/86 he worked as a Research Assistant at the Austrian Constitutional Court and achieved his “Habilitation” in the fields of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Political Theory in 1991. In 1991/92 he deputised a chair of Public Law at Constance University (Germany), in 1994 a chair at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University Frankfurt/Main (Germany). In 1993 he was appointed Professor of Public Law at Vienna University. Since 2007 he is the Head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Vienna University. He has published more than a hundred articles and/or books. Prof. Stelzer is married and a father of three.
