Physiology & Pathophysiology 2023 Symposium#

Date: 10.00 – 17.30, 7th and 8th March 2023
Venue: German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Jägerberg 1, 06108 Halle, Germany

About the conference#

In spite of major recent discoveries in Physiology and Pathophysiology, it is a serious problem that the biomedical sciences are currently ‘drowning’ in masses of data that do not generate new ideas or models (https://doi.org/10.1093/function/zqac048). We often miss the ‘big picture’. This conference will therefore be broad, taking us all the way from the main support systems of the body to its principal functions, namely, sensing, moving, talking and thinking. The speakers will provide broad perspectives, enabling meaningful discussions of major advances.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the APS and the Leopoldina, and is co-organised by the APS journal Function, AE’s Cardiff University Hub and the Leopoldina.
