Fellow and Tutor in German, New College, Oxford; Professor of Modern German Literature, University of Oxford.

• 2018 Consultant to National Endowment of the Humanities funded project on East Germany, Harvard University.

• 2014 Chair of International Panel for Croatian National University Accreditation Programmes in Humanities and Social Sciences: part of EU accreditation programme
  

Publications:

Seventeen academic books in print or in press; Eighteen book length translations in print or in press.

Seventy articles in refereed journals and chapters in books including standard reference works and trade books, on aspects of modern German literature, especially GDR literature, Rilke, Brecht, translation, and modern/contemporary poetry, including first articles on many major figures.

Lectures:

Over 90 invited public lectures and papers in UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and all over Europe including many named or keynote lectures.

Conferences Organized:

Ten international conferences organized, most recently: ‘Leaping from the Edge of the World’: An international Symposium on the work of Ulrike Draesner’, New College Oxford, 2016: http://www.mod-langs.ox.ac.uk/draesner-symposium/.

Grants:

Major Research grants from Arts and Humanities Research Council, British Academy; also British Council, DAAD Geschwister Böhringer Ingelheim Stiftung für Geisteswissenschaften, Alfred Toepfer Stiftung, Austrian Cultural Forum etc.

Media:

Since 1998 regular contributor to BBC radio and TV including commissioned radio programmes of her own: reviews in a wide variety of journals.

Public Engagement:

Performed at over 100 festivals, roundtables or standalone events in UK, USA, Europe (also curated large events at the Southbank Centre, London in 2006 and 2014). PI of Mediating Modern Poetry: http://mmp.mml.ox.ac.uk: project shortlisted for inaugural University of Oxford VC Innovation awards 2017.
