Honours and Awards
- 2017 Hall of Fame of Neurosciences – The Slovak Neuroscience Society established the Hall of Fame of Neurosciences for distinguished scientists for their life-long contribution to the development of the Slovak neurosciences. In 2017 entered the Hall of Fame Prof. Michal Novak, who introduced the issue of the Alzheimer´s disease in Slovakia. Prof. Michal Novak established a number of institutions and scientific societies, which conduct research, introduce modern diagnostic methods into practice and inform the public about the gravity of the disease.

- 2016 Award of Slovak Academy of Sciences – for the establishment of neuroimmunology as a new scientific discipline in Slovakia, for solving scientific and research tasks of fundamental scientific interest and for creating conditions for scientific work in life sciences.
- 2014 Garnet Immunoglobulin - Czech Immunological Society Garnet immunoglobulin is the highest award given by the Czech Immunological Society to Czech and foreign immunologists as an expression of thanks for their contribution to immunology. This prestigious award was awarded to professor MVD Michal Novák, DSc. for the establishment and development of Neuroimmunology in "Czecho-Slovakia".
