Jose Peiro Silla - Biography#
Emeritus Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Valencia (2020). Member of the Academia de Psicología de España. President (2011-2014) of the International Association of Applied Psychology. Founding Director of the Research Institute of Human Resources Psychology, Organizational Development and Quality of Working life (2009 - 2018). Senior researcher at the IVIE (1994). Head of the Department of Psychology (1983-1993; 2000 - 2003), Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Valencia (1993 - 1999). Fellow member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (since 2009) and of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (since 2001). Member of the European Awarding Committee of the Europsy Certificate (2009 - 2016). President of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (1995 - 1997) and of the European Network of Work and Organizational Psychology Professors (2015 - 2017). Director of the PhD Program on Human Resources Psychology (Mention towards Excellence of the Spanish Ministry of Education) (2000 - 2019). Coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master Program of Work, Organization and Personnel Psychology taught by a consortium of the Universities: Barcelona, Bologna, Coimbra, Paris, Guelph, Brasilia and Valencia (2005 - 2018). He published more than 400 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and about 40 books and monographs mainly in English and Spanish. Associate Editor of the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology (1995 - 2001). Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Work and Organizational Research Centre of Tilburg University (The Netherlands) (1993 - 1999). He is currently editor the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Work and Organizational Psychology. He leaded international research projects such as Psychological Contract across employment situations. (Vth European Framework program 2003 - 2005) and Climate KIC “Certified Professional” project (2016)
