Aura Reggiani - Biography#
Professor Aura Reggiani is since 2001 working as Professor of Economic Policy, Department of Economics at the University of Bologna, after being Associate Professor of Economic Policy (1992-2001).
Aura Reggiani has a Ph.D. in Spatial Economics from the Free University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
She is a specialist in spatial economics and modelling, with particular reference to the study of network evolution, complexity and resilience, from both the theoretical and empirical viewpoint - and of the associated policies. Her research interests include Methods of Economic Analysis, Economic Policy and Transport Economics.
She has been a visiting professor in five other universities. She has been lecturing in totally twelve countries (within USA in nine universities).
Her publication list is extensive. Her name is the first name among authors in one third of all articles, indicating main responsibility. Her publication list includes 22 books, 13 special issues of journals and 155 articles in refereed Journals and books.
She is currently on the editorial boards of seven internationally recognised journals (Networks and Spatial Economics, Transportation Research A, Transportation Research D, European Journal of Transport and Infrastructure Research, Journal of Transport and Land Use, Discrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, International Journal of Management and Network Economics).
In particular, she is Editor (since 2015) of the journal 'Networks and Spatial Economics' (Springer-Verlag), after being Area Editor (since 2001).
She is also Series Editor of the "NECTAR Series on Transportation and Communications Networks Research" (Edward Elgar, UK-USA) (since 2009).
Since 1991, she has been a Fellow of the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) of the Royal Dutch Academy.
She has been President of NECTAR (Network for European Communications and Transport Activities Research) (2008-2013) and also Chair of the ERC Panel on 'Environment, Space and Population' (2013 and 2015).
