Jens Beckert - Biography#

Jens Beckert is Director of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, one of the leading research institutions in Germany for the comparative analysis of contemporary societies. Previously, he was Professor of Sociology at the University of Goettingen, Associate Professor at the International University Bremen, and Assistant Professor at the Free University of Berlin. He held numerous visting positions at leading international research universities, such as Cornell University, the New School for Social Research, Sciences Po, and the European University Institute.
