Daniela Jalobeanu - Biography#
Dana Jalobeanu is Associate Professor in Philosophy, Department of Theoretical Philosophy, and director of the ICUB-Humanities, University of Bucharest. She was trained as a theoretical physicist and has a PhD in Philosophy, from the University of Bucharest, with a thesis on early modern philosophy. Her work on the emergence of early modern experimental philosophy combines the HPS perspective with history of science and history of philosophy. She is also interested in Renaissance philosophy and the survival of the classical tradition, especially Stoicism. She is co-editor of the Journal of Early Modern Studies, and co-organizer of the Princeton-Bucharest seminar in early modern philosophy. She is the editor of Francis Bacon’s Philosophical works (in Romanian) and a co-editor of the Oxford Francis Bacon. She is the president of the European Society for History of Science.
