Iliya Kiriya - Biography#

Iliya Kiriya has a PhD in Philology (journalism), Department of Journalism, Moscow Lomonosov State University, 2002; and a PhD in Information and communication from Grenoble University (France), 2007.

He is the present Chair of the Media Department (School of Media), and also vice-dean for research, Faculty of Communication, Media and Design, at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics (HSE), where he also serves on the board of HSE.

Kiriya is coordinating and ensuring the collaboration of educational programs in media and journalism, including heading the international relations of the faculty. This also includes ensuring the recruitment and assessment of the deptment's faculty.

He has held visiting fellowships at Grenoble University and Lyon University in France, and Södertörn University, Sweden.
