On the Editorial Staff of Orbis Litterarum: International Review of Literary Studies (Oxford and Copenhagen: Munksgaard Blackwell) since 1999, from 2000 in full charge as General and English Editor. On the Editorial Board of Journal of Music and Meaning (fully net-based journal: (https://www.musicandmeaning.net) since start in 2003. Guest lectures and conference-participation in Denmark and abroad. External examiner for Danish university-degree programmes in comparative literature and literary history. PhD supervision and on numerous selection and recommendation committees over the years. Active in public-library-information services, in university-extension teaching, and in in-service training. Book reviewer and freelance cultural journalist at Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten since 1987. Consultant Editor at Danmarks Nationalleksikon (The New Danish National Encyclopedia), 1992-2002. From 2005 Consultant Editor of updated Danish National Enclyclopedia electronic version.

Among courses taught over the last ten years in addition to current introductory courses in practical critical analysis and literary history: Joyce, Ulysses and Modernism, Post WWII British Poetry, The Experience of Empire in English Literature, Intertextuality, The Verse Novel, Literary Translation in Theory and Practice, From Henry Roth to Philip Roth: Jewish-American Literature, Echoes of Empire in British Literature after WW2, After Howl: The New American Poetry.

Research activities:

Current research interests/projects within areas of: Book and Cognition, Intermediality, Music and Literature, Verse Novel, English-Language Literature and Criticism generally. Research-programme activities at University of Southern Denmark: NTSMB, Fiction, The Gutenberg Parenthesis Research Forum.
