András Simonovits - Biography#

András Simonovits studied at the Budapest University of Eötvös Loránd and received M.A of Mathematics in 1970 and Ph.D of Mathematics in 1976. Entering the Institute of Economics, HAS, he worked in the Research Group of János Kornai between 1970 and 1990. Since then, he is an independent researcher. He taught at the Corvinus University of Budapest (Economics) between 1987 and 1999, and became a Full Professor at the Budapest University of Technology in 2000. He had many students getting MA of mathematics but only one Ph.D student of Economics finished his dissertation under his supervision.
