- 1971: Candidate of mathematical sciences (equivalent to PhD), awarded with disctinction , Lomonosov University, Moscow (thesis in probability)
- 1971-99: Junior/Senior Research Fellow, Founder of Dept. of Stat. Phys., Scientific Director (January 1993-December 1995)Mathematical Institute of Hung. Acad. Sci.
- 1975-77: interest turns to mathematical statistical physics, in particular, to dynamical theory of Brownian motion
- 1979-: previous interest led him to the theory of dynamical systems, in particular, to the theory of hyperbolic billiards.
