Honours and Awards
- 2022 SIR PATRICK MANSON MEDAL awarded by the ROYAL SOCIETY OF TROPICAL MEDICINE AND HYGIENE (October 8th 2022). This is the highest distinction accorded by the RSTMH. - 2022 UK-NIHR SENIOR INVESTIGATOR AWARD (2017-2026) from the UK Department of Health, National Institute for Health Care and Research, NHS, London, UK. The NIHR Senior Investigators are ‘among the most prominent and prestigious researchers ‘ and the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research within the NIHR Faculty. Sir Zumla was awarded this in 2017 and it was renewed in 2022 until 2027
- 2021 THE EDCTP PASCOAL MOCUMBI PRIZE: This prestigious prize is named after Dr Pascoal Mocumbi, the former prime minister of Mozambique, who in 2000, together with European Union countries formed the EU-European and Developing Countries’ Clinical Trials Partnership EDCTP.
